Today’s average price of $1.80 per gallon is the lowest price for gasoline since January 2009. And predictions are that they will remain steady through the year.
While that’s great news, there can still be a big difference in pricing from station to station within the same city, let alone along your RVing travel adventures.
Typical fuel economy in a Class B RV can range from 14-17 MPG in Gas models. Diesel models (typical of the sprinter chassis) can get up to 20-22 MPG. That means regular stops on your journey. And even with low gas prices, you still want to get the best deal.
Luckily, technology has made it very easy to get the best gas prices. Yes, there’s an App for that! Here are two of our favorites to get you started.
GasBuddy has been around for years but it still gives you the most up-to-date gas prices wherever you may be in the U.S. or Canada. GasBuddy relies on users to update prices, who in turn have a chance to win $100 every day for adding prices. It also gives you a map so finding the lowest gas prices is easy. The app is free for all platforms.
Gas Guru is another handy app created by Yellowpages.com. It gives you the lowest and closest gas prices. With Gas Guru, you can even search for the lowest fuel prices based on grades – even diesel. With Gas Guru, you can search using a list or you can view the app’s map to see your options. The app is free for Android and iOS and works with Apple Watch.
There are many different Apps that can help you along your journey. Isn’t technology great! Do you have an App that you just can’t travel without?
